The book charts the years in the aftermath of Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement and for United fans is a story of misfortune, calamitous decisions and the realisation that replacing the greatest manager in the history of the game is indeed as difficult as we all feared. The thread throughout the book questions the club’s search for an identity post-Ferguson.

It is a tough read as a fan as there is page after page, laid bare in front of you, the stark reality that the retirement of the greatest manager in the history of the game could not be remedied.
