VELVET ECCENTRIC what does that name conjure up? Something British, lustrous, unpredictable, luxurious. It is the name of a new business started by two women from Oxfordshire Stow-on- the- Wold in the Cotswolds Rachel Berger and Hannah Baud are interior decorators who can transform your home with their witty and original designs.
VELVET ECCENTRIC’S dream has been to meet up with their design crush ABIGAIL AHERN. We gathered together at ABIGAILS studio and home her creative of hub fashionable Hackney .ABIGAIL has been described as the hottest interior designer in the country by The Sunday Times. She is famous for her edgy eclectic taste and bold use of dark paint punctuated by bright objects. An international designer she has designed the Grand Spa in Palm Beach, she also does branding for a chain of Middle Eastern hotels and she was the set designer for Heston Blumantal’s “How to cook Like Heston”. ABIGAIL also has a shop and a new paint range.
We met up in Abigail’s much photographed home where Rachel and Hannah took the reins and recorded a gorgeous interview. Get prepared as you may end up “doing it yourself” this weekend.
