Pianist Alan Broadbent talks with Chris Philips ahead of his duo date with Georgia Mancio at London's Pizza Express Jazz Club

Regarded as one of the greatest living jazz pianists, arrangers, composers and band leaders in America, two time Grammy Award winning Alan Broadbent took time out to visit Jazz FM together with singer Georgia Mancio. They will perform as a duo at London's Pizza Express Jazz Club Wednesday November 26th. This fulfils Georgia's ambition to work with this great musician, drawn to him through his duo work with singer Irene Kral who greatly influenced her.

Alan spoke of their work together, his own journey from New Zealand to America as a teenager, working with the great Woody Herman to Canadian singer Diana Krall, the magic 'thing' that makes music swing and reflects on his friend and colleague the late Charlie Haden with whom he played in Quartet West.
