Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is (But Also Shut Up & Listen Dr. Soni is Still Talking)

Season 1, Episode 22,   Jul 03, 2015, 06:24 PM

This is the Q&A section that immediately followed our panel event at USC. The conversation was lively and incredibly free flowing, but stayed within the themes touched on during the panel.

Even though this podcast was recorded a few months ago, fittingly to today we get into Bobby Jindal off the bat. We dive into his thoughts and how they pertain to cultural preservation. From there, we get into really interesting conversation about media and its effect on us as a community. Arjun then rails into our community for its lack of putting its money where its mouth is. We as a community are horrible at funding art and horrible at funding art that is specific to us. We need to change that and he say so. We then move to talking about economics and how far our community has come so quickly.

The beauty of the panel was being able to hear from people of many different backgrounds within this community, and the last question of the day is definitely work sticking around for. Brings up a really important question we have to answer as we move forward in continuing to build a strong American Desi community. Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it.
