BBC South Today 2/10/15 Stanbridge Earls Serious Case Review. Might it be challenged?
The emphasis of the press release that seems to have been issued by Hampshire Safeguarding Children's Board is that the Police and the Local Authority response to allegations of abuse at Stanbridge Earls in Romsey, was extensive, thorough and coordinated. During the BBC report it was claimed that Hampshire Police spent 6000 hours investigating allegations at the school but no explanation for this extraordinary amount of time was provided. What prompted it? Furthermore, what if anything ,has not been included in the report, and are the recommendations sufficient to change the cultural approach to child protection in all institutional settings?
