Women Worldwide with Guest Jan Jones
Jan Jones, CEO of Jan Jones Worldwide, an international speakers bureau, and the author of The CEO’s Secret Weapon: How Great Leaders And Their Assistants Maximize Productivity And Effectiveness, joins host Deirdre Breakenridge on Women Worldwide. Throughout her career, Jan has surrounded herself with successful business leaders and high profile executives being privy to the unique behind the scenes perspectives of how they function with their executive assistants.
On the show, Jan discusses working with CEOs, and what it takes to be an executive assistant, who is viewed as a business partner and a trusted confidant. She explains there are no shortcuts; you’re working hard and it could be 24/7, managing many different responsibilities. Jan explains the role of the executive assistant to help executives understand how they serve as the ultimate PR person. The assistant must always represent and be an extension of his/her boss, from the project work and fielding calls and questions to interacting with others inside and outside of the organization. Jan also shares advice on how to manage very demanding responsibilities, and the best ways to relax in extremely stressful business situations.
