Episode 203 :: Holiday Films, Not For the Holidays

Dec 27, 2014, 12:00 AM

2014 is drawing to a close. The tinsel is coming down, the caroling has ceased, but we've got a little holiday spirit left in us... kinda.

In this Microsode join Cap, Doug, Matt, and our Live Producer, John La Valle as we discuss movies set during the holidays that aren't consumed by Christmas cheer - these films are good any time of the year! So if you're coming off your Christmas binge of extreme merry-making or winter doldrums, we've got a playlist of great films that sample the Yuletide without overdoing it.

But why should Christmas get all the fun? Hanukkah and Kwanza might be under-represented, but there's a whole year's worth of holidays out there! Hear our two cents on which films most aptly use Halloween and Thanksgiving as backdrops without limiting where and when you can enjoy them.

Thanks to Anique Zimmer for the Microsode topic. Yippie-ki-yi-yay!
