Has school rugby become too dangerous? New research from the Ulster University highlights a "high incidence of severe injuries" to players at schools in Northern Ireland. 825 schoolboys took part in the 2014/15 study with more than 1 in 3 of them suffering at least one injury during the season. The researchers recorded 426 injuries in total, of which 204 resulted in an absence from the sport - for longer than 28 days. Has rugby in general changed over the years - increasing the dangers to those who play? Should we think twice before letting our children play the sport?
