Executive unanimous on scrapping lifetime ban on gay men giving blood #bbcnolan

The lifetime ban on gay men donating blood has been lifted. Health Minister Michelle O'Neill announced the decision yesterday, saying it will take effect from September 1

Men here will the be allowed to donate blod one year after their last sexual contact with another man. That will bring us into line - with the rest of the UK, where the lifetime ban was relaxed in 2011.
