Aziz Ibrahim - Ian Brown, The Stone Roses, Paul Weller (Part One)

Former Stone Roses guitarist Aziz Ibrahim is this week’s guest on The StageLeft Podcast. In Part One, Aziz documents his early years growing up in Longsight, Manchester to headlining the Reading Festival in 1996. Aziz discusses what it was like playing huge concerts in Brazil with Simply Red, being Musical Director for Hot Chocolate and reflects on his time in The Stone Roses. Armed with an acoustic guitar, Aziz colours the interview with examples and even plays us through how he approached learning John Squire’s guitar parts.

Part 2 will be available the week of August 15th 2016 and covers writing songs with Ian Brown, collaborating with Paul Weller, charts the challenges he has faced in his career and his thoughts on the Stone Roses reunion.
