Clyde News is being told dozens of victims of sex abuse in care have come forward as a result of a high-profile campaign by a survivor in Glasgow.

Dave Sharp who claims he was abused at the former St Ninian's School in Fife has been chained to a cross opposite St Andrew's Cathedral for the last ten days and says he wants the Catholic Church to do more to help those affected.

Counsellor Sandra Toya from charity Open Secret is paying tribute.

A charity worker who helps victims of childhood sexual abuse says the crucifixion protest carried out by a survivor in Glasgow's got the backing of people in the city.

That's counsellor Sandra Toya from Open Secret who has been supporting sex abuse victim Dave Sharp whose been chained to a cross opposite St Andrew's Cathedral for 10 days.

As a result of the campaign around 40 people have come forward for the first time looking for help.

The Catholic Church says the Archbishop has met him privately and repeated the apology and that they've tried to respond to him with understanding.

Clyde News is being told the crucifixion protest in Glasgow of a survivor of sex abuse at a former Catholic School has prompted around 40 victims to come forward.

Dave Sharp has been chained to a cross outside St Andrew's Cathedral for ten days as he calls for more to be done for those who suffered abuse in care.

Counsellor Sandra Toya from charity Open Secret has been supporting the campaign.
