Speaker apologies over handling of Assembly business on Charter NI controversy

A big political apology at Stormont yesterday as Speaker Robin Newton said sorry over how he handled Assembly business over the ongoing Charter NI controversy. This all came about after Sam McBride did a story looking into Mr Newton's behaviour. And then yesterday the Nolan Show revealed evidence which shows Charter NI named Robin Newton as their advisor on 7 May this year. The significance of that was he became Speaker shortly afterwards, and then last month Mr Newton blocked a question on the very organisation he had been helping.
