'It's gob smacking, it's soul destroying' - residents hit out at Belfast City Council for playpark closure

A children's playpark, opened in the memory of a child who was knocked down and killed 16 years ago, has been shut down by Belfast City Council for six months. Residents in the Braniel Estate in East Belfast say the Carema Allen Memorial Children's Playpark was the only place their children could play safely. They say they've been left baffled as to why the council has closed it down - with the only sign of any work being done in it a large hole. Our reporter, Nicola Weir, went to speak to parents in the estate - and her report begins with Lorraine Allen Wilcox, who's daughter the park is named after.
