Episode #105 - I've Got You
Aug 15, 2015, 06:00 AM
Natalie and Karen are joined by Will Wallace, the writer of Teen Wolf season 5, episode 8, "Ouroboros."
Featured Song: "I Found" by Amber Run
- We welcome back our pal Will Wallace, who wrote this episode?
- He explains why the ouroboros - not an inherently evil symbol - was chosen for the Dread Doctors.- Why does the Desert Wolf want to kill her own daughter? Could it be anything to do with the experiment fetuses?
- “Those are all great questions and i cant wait to answer them at a later time.” Thanks, Will.
- The SLAP! Was it warranted?
- Which side of that argument are we on?
- We talk more about how the writer’s room works, and the difference between “breaking” or planning an episode, and writing the actual script.
- Clark is Hayden’s sister, but they have different last names. That’s a plot point!
- Her taking Kira into custody was Will’s favorite scene to write.
- We think about how some characters have progressed since season 1, with the help of a handy gifset.
- Originally, it was going to be Noshiko who turned herself in, but we discuss why they ended up giving Ken the “mic drop” moment.
- How far will Scott and Kira be driven apart? City limits far, apparently.
- Kira’s problems will be a strong A-plot in season 5B.
episode in 5b with strong a story
- Bending before somebody breaks sounds very ominous.
- How SHOULD the law enforcement tackle the supernatural?
- A serial show like Teen Wolf has more accountability to show this than a procedural show like Supernatural.
- There are, apparently, lots of feels coming. Shocking.
- Will explains the logic behind Kira’s reading of the book with a drawing metaphor.
- Now we know what 115 is!
- Will shares his thoughts about why Scott couldn't vocalise the problems with Kira, and says that if he was in a better place mentally, he wouldn’t have handled it like that.
- Stiles is still dealing with the aftermath of his murder moment, and now he’s lying to his dad about it.
- M STILINSKI. Is this a big deal? Why is this such a big deal?
- Scott’s desperate memory stealing - what did they talk to Tyler about to get this? Their main concern was “how far can we take Scott before he becomes unlikeable?”
- Will hopes that Cody isn’t taking anything away from his performance as Theo, because it’s so disturbing?
- Theo is apparently the personification of popcorn.gif right now.
- What kind of non-verbal directions (like facial expressions) get written into the script?
- What was the deal with wing guy in the reject basement?
- Natalie thinks it was sad. Karen thinks it was gross. Will: “That’s us - sad and gross.”
- Theo must be very dedicated to his lie to actually electrocute himself.
- We explore the handshake-to-hug moment between Scott and Theo.
- Scott at his lowest is hard to watch and hard to write.
- Why is Scott making all these dark conclusions about himself?
- What was the highlight for Will of seeing his script brought to life?
- He promises there are good things to come. “Lots of smiles.” Suuuure.
- In feedback, we discuss Scott’s attitude to lethal force, which chimera we’d want to be, and more!
