Episode #76 - Lenient Coroners
Aug 16, 2014, 06:00 AM
Natalie and Karen discuss the untimely death of Scott McCall in this week's recap for Teen Wolf season 4, episode 8, "Time of Death."
Featured Song: "Gold" by Chet Faker
- We had a very high NATWP worldwide con presence this weekend!
- In our fave quotes, Natalie knows who she'd be in a "which Beacon Hills resident are you" quiz, and Karen holds back on gushing about her choice for later in the episode.
- Malia and Stiles's snuggling gave Natalie some weird memories.
- Is Scott's conversation with his dad foreshadowing of him killing someone?
- In this world, does killing really make you evil?
- The main plot of this episode is that Scott freaking dies. But not really. Are there going to be some lingering questions from the hospital and stuff?
- Almost-human Derek is so important, guys. It makes us nearly incoherent.
- Melissa McCall reacting - dude.
- Little Liam went through a lot this episode, poor baby.
- We have a couple of headcanons about Stiles and Derek's separate reactions to the "let's kill Scott" plan.
- Liam's instinctual bond to Scott now vs Scott's instinctual bond to Peter in season 1.
- New teams this week - Stiles and Chris, Melissa and Noshiko. Cool!
- Scott's teeth are evolving and Karen is thinking about Pokemon.
- She is also disappointed that we only see the Mute again in Scott's crazy dreams - she wants him back IRL.
- More coded lists? We actually had a hint about this from someone!
- Would Scott ever turn to preventative killing if he found out who was coming for them?
- Some interesting Peter stuff - he flat-out knows he's crazy, and Malia doesn't really think much of him even though she knows he's her father.
- Does Liam still have a crush on Kira?
- Look, we gotta do this.
- Derek Hale. Derek Hale Derek HALE. D E R E K H A L E. Actual Derek Hale Tho. OMFGSHSDGSSDGH DEREK HALE. Derrrrrrreeeeekkkkkkk Halllllllllllleeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
- "It's hard to articulate how good this scene was."
- We need this to continue and we want to see Derek doing his grocery shopping and using emojis.
- There's a lot about Malia's mother that raises questions - was she untrustworthy too? What was so bad about this baby scenario that Talia took the measures that she did?
- Lydia's grandma has a mountain ash house, and the banshee powers seem to come from her father's side of the family.
- Is Noshiko getting hurt going to be a big part of the plot? We didn't even see how it happened.
- Peter and Kate - it's still weird. Why are they relieved that Scott didn't die?
- Does Peter know why he's not on the list?
- Stiles knew about Kate/Derek back in season 3A, but Scott only just found out. Theories?
- They seem to think the Benefactor is a banshee. How long has Lydia's grandma been dead... if she's really dead at all?
- Next week, episode 9, will have a big reveal, and if they mess with Parrish we will definitely quit the show.
- We're talking art history in our non sequitur section... we're nerds.
- BONUS: This week we interviewed Gabe Fleming and Betsy Thompson, two of Teen Wolf's editing and post-production team!
