Gardaí call for law change to make cyclists wear safety gear - something we should consider here?

GET YOUR HELMET ON! The Gardaí have called for a law that would make it a legal requirement for cyclists to wear high visibility vests and helmets. The police in the south have said that 'the amount of fatalities and serious injuries...is so huge...we should shift the mentality and attitudes of cyclists - to encompass their own safety...'
