There are nearly two thousand people in the Belfast Trust area waiting for knee replacement surgery - with an average wait time of 19 months (76 weeks). That's almost two years without full mobility and often in constant pain. The Trust has also revealed that there are also just over 1600 patients waiting for hip replacement surgery with an average wait time of 17 months. Our reporter, Nicola Weir, spoke to Margaret Kennedy. She's 71 years old has been on the knee replacement list for almost 17 months. And she told Nicola about the long wait has turned her from an active church volunteer to a virtual recluse. Vinny also got reaction from Dr Alan Stout, Deputy Chair of the British Medical Association GP committee in Northern Ireland.
