Pierz vs Giantvalley DII Legion State Tournament

The Pierz Legion Baseball team rallied for a 7-4 win over the defending Division II Legion and 2-time Class AA High School Champions from Giantvalley (Minnehaha Academy) on Friday in Paynesville. Alex Funk had a huge 2-run single, Preston Rocheleau had a run-scoring hit, as did Matt Kummet and Noah Boser crushed a tie-breaking 3-run Homer to provide the margin of victory. Matt Kummet accomplished the seldom-seen feat of not only earning the pitching Win, but he returned to the mound to record the games final out and get credited for a Save as well!
