New proposals for maximum stakes on fixed-odds betting terminals have been described as "disappointing" by a Kent campaigner. At the moment, you can risk £100 every 20 seconds. Ministers plan to cut that to between £2 and £50. Leader of the Labour group at Medway Council, Vince Maple, had hoped the government would have gone further. £35m was lost of the machines in Kent last year.
