Focus today is on FOMC, PMI's, ADP & ISM.
FOMC today, no rate move but all indicating towards December. Matt Brown says expect the rate hike.
PMI numbers, we have had Chinese numbers out already. Also, we just had UK PMI data out - 56.3 was the number. This was different to the expected 58.8. Matt notes that this is a positive and will help BoE with their suspected rate hike tomorrow.
ADP employment numbers, precursor to non-farm pay rolls due out on Friday. Suspected to be 200,000 ADP.
These are a few of the many data points out this week to look out for and these are the things dominating the market.
FTSE one to watch
Next PLC is the FTSE one to watch today. Continued story, Q3 udate, is under-performing. Retail sales down about 7.7%. Directory sales up 13%. Shift to online here is evident, like with so many other companies in this sector.
AIM one to watch
Today's AIM stock to look out for is Biome Tech. A small company, in organic plastics and RAFs radio frequency. Market Cap of £5m. Doubled in value in April, trading updates have been positive.
FX Rates
GBP/USD and EUR/USD outlooks are the focus in today's Market Open Show. EUR/USD from a technical point of view, have a head and shoulders break down. Could drop further.
Core Number
6,000: Bitcoin trading above 6,000.
Now trading above 6500. Has doubled since September, which Matt thinks is incredible for a currency.
Calendar
Some key events to look out for today include Markit Manufacturing PMI & Fed rate decision and policy statement.
