Georgina McNamara, Executive Lead Nurse for Education at the Sepsis Trust, describes the huge impact of sepsis, a deadly infection which can often be successfully treated if spotted early. She urges families to be alert to the signs of sepsis and to follow their instincts if someone has the symptoms. Her message to health professionals is to use their screening tools and take early action if a patient shows signs of deterioration.
