A service is taking place in #Kent later to honour the first black British Army officer, who was killed in action during the First World War. Walter Tull was born in #Folkestone and also played football for Spurs and Northampton before he joined the army. This week more than 100 MPs wrote to the Prime Minister calling for him to be awarded a Military Cross - 100 years after he died. Historian Liam Tarry's holding a special remembrance event in the town.
