The UK’s food and drink industry is in the grip of a carbon dioxide shortage, threatening products from beer and soft drinks to meat and even crumpets.

As we head to the pubs in the sunshine, and with the World Cup pushing more people to order drinks, it’s been described as “the perfect storm”.

So if you’re heading out to see England versus Colombia this evening, are you still going to have a gas, or will things fall flat?
