Chris King is one of several Democratic candidates for Florida governor who is running in the 2018 statewide primary season.

King is an Orlando-based progressive entrepreneur who grew up in Winter Park, FL and after graduating from high school there, he attended Harvard University and graduated in 2001 magna cum laude with a BA degree in Religion, Politics and American Public Policy.

He then graduated in 2005 with his Juris Doctor degree cum laude from the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law.

With his brother, King founded Elevation Financial Group, LLC which specializes in real estate investment, property management and property renovation. It has become an industry leader across the southeastern United States in providing quality, safe and clean affordable housing for seniors and low-income families. This group also launched six private equity funds.

King founded the Elevation Scholars Program which works with the University of Central Florida and Orange County Public Schools to provide scholarships to low-income and high-performing students from Title I schools.

He is an advocate as a person of deep and abiding faith for disadvantaged families in the United States and abroad, including community charitable initiatives in Haiti and Africa.

As a candidate for governor of Florida, King is committed to the priorities of social justice, environmental issues, expansion of Medicaid, banning assault weapons and wider economic opportunities.
