Stars coach Garry Dowd saw his side beaten 4-2 at the home of defending league champions Sheffield Steeldogs but says the Stars battled for long periods and sticking to the systems and working for each other paid off.
It was only after Sheffield's contentious equaliser at 2-2 that the Stars went away from the gameplan and allowed Steeldogs to score twice more and win the game.
