Copywriter - Christina Olympia Angus

This week's guest is kick ass copy writer, Christina Olympia Angus. 

Whilst working as a PA in advertising agency, Christina and her fellow PA would steal creative briefs and then submit their ideas to the creative department. The tenacity paid off and one of their concepts ended up as a 10 second spot on TV.  She then moved into the Creative Department as a copywriter, building up her craft over the past 15 years.

Christina shares what skills are needed to become an exceptional copywriter, the importance of working in a team: with your day wife or day husband and where she seeks out creative inspiration - everywhere! 

Having just taken part in Creative Equals - Returners programme, Christina discusses the importance to drive an army of female creativity back into the industry to address the gender imbalance. The Returners scheme aims to provide women with the tools, knowledge and confidence to secure full-time or freelance employment after an extended career break. 

Christina also does more than copy! Concocted on night fuelled by gin, she meet her future side hustler, Kate Kate O’Sullivan in a pub and as a result Street Diner was born. It has gone on to become Brightons much loved and biggest weekly street food market. Christina talks passionately about championing local traders, how they set up the market and how her agency and copywriting skills cross over to help promote the weekly event.
