Bonus Episode 1 - Sounds From The Ziggurat
Season 1, Episode 9, Jun 27, 2019, 01:04 PM
Season 2 is on its way but taking longer than I first thought! In the meantime, I wanted to share some stories and love for other artists I admire. I am still paying for an Audioboom subscription, after all! So I may as well make use of it!
(I do understand any unsubscriptions considering this is a slight departure from the norm!)
A bonus episode of the Podcast.
I share my love of some of the other artists I've discovered over the past few years, either through playing alongside at gigs or late night YouTube binges.
Although these artists are not local, there will be some anecdotes and connections to Brighton and how they have shaped and influenced my own life and music.

The Headline Band - Tom Shillito

Thank you to the opening band they've pulled in quite a crowd
We'd have loved to see them play if only circumstance allowed
We're all so very grateful 'cause they let us used their drums
But we missed their set 'cause we were out in restaurants with our mums
We're the headline band our show will have you on your knees
But could I have some more of my voice in my monitors please?
Shout out to the second band I didn't catch their name
But I thought that they were awesome and my mates all said the same
Those kids have got a future yeah I'm sure they will go far
At least they sounded good from where we were sitting downstairs in the bar
We're the headline band our show will have you on your knees
But could I have some more of my voice in my monitors please?
We've built up quite a following and it's growing everyday
There's none of them here yet like, but I'm sure there on their way
At least we've got the hardcore fans who really think we're cool
That's the bassist’s younger sister and her creepy mates form school
We're the headline band our show will have you on your knees
But could I have some more of my voice in my monitors please?
There's lots of people leaving now its probably the heat
Cause even though its quiet I'd say we were going down a treat
I prefer a small crowd any way cause we really can connect
At least we could if they were listening and they weren't already wrecked
We're the headline band our show will have you on your knees
But could I have some more of my voice in my monitors please?
Now that was quite an evening lads a performance hard to match
A shame about the sound though it just wasn't up to scratch
I know we missed the soundcheck but if the tech was worth his wage
He‘d have fixed it so we didn't look like dickheads on stage
We're the headline band our show will have you on your knees
But could I have some more of my voice in my monitors please?
And a tiny bit less bass
And quite a lot less snare
And if you had some more of my guitar then we'd be nearly there
We're the headline band our show will have you on your knees
But could I have some more of my voice in my monitors please?
