Episode 132: World Mental Health Day 2019

This week's Mental Health Monday follows on from last week's World Mental Health Day, which took place on Thursday 11th October, and features a variety of voices across a number of organisations.

First a chance to hear special correspondent Rosanna Robins' report on mental health text service 'Shout', as she spends time with one of their volunteers.

Then, Mick Coyle visited Liverpool's iconic Palm House to talk at a conference organised by the Lee Cooper Foundation (featured in Episode 112), and is joined by Chairperson Lily Spendlove.

Niamh Mitchell from Small Steps Events stopped by the studio to talk about her new event aimed at tackling loneliness & isolation in young people and students taking place on Thursday 17th October.

And Eric Houghton from the Homeless Games joins Mick to discuss how sport and community helped him tackle depression and addiction, and how this led to him getting involved with the Games.
