Why corporate culture matters
Episode 93, Feb 26, 2020, 05:00 AM
Leadership, strategy and culture are all critical when assessing a company – whether for future investment or perhaps if you’re considering a role there. But the one that always stands out to employees’ lived experiences is culture and yet is still seen as so elusive given it is embedded in unspoken behaviours, social patterns and mind-sets. This makes it hard for boards and would-be investors to assess, manage and measure. Difficult, but not impossible.
This week, we talk to Clare Payn about her experience working with boards and fund managers about how she and the Investment Stewardship team understands corporate culture, the ways it can be measured, and how it can be successfully changed and developed over time.
