LISTEN: Historian John Jenkins has helped recreate the shrine of Saint Thomas Becket - 07/07/2020
A shrine at Canterbury Cathedral that became one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in medieval England is being reconstructed digitally. The tomb of Saint Thomas Becket was covered in gold and jewels when it was created exactly 800 years ago, but it was destroyed during the Reformation in 1538. A specialist team have been working for the last six years on a video so we can see what it once looked like. John Jenkins is one of the historians behind it.
