TSOT016: Covid Analysis and Discussion with Special Guest Michael Austin
Nov 10, 2020, 04:59 AM
Kim and I team up to host special guest Michael Austin of the Kansas Policy Institute. Michael appeared on our radar earlier this year due to his outstanding work, along with The Sentinel, on finding seemingly purposeful mischaracterizations of covid data in Kansas by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) Secretary Lee Norman with vast political effects (Here, and here, among others).
That work has continued through a series of stories, many STEEPED in data, and some that hit national media, honestly dwarfing anything the print media in Kansas has done.
Michael discusses his background, getting started with THE issue of 2020, background and explanation of the stories, the lack of true full-spectrum analysis of the subject, and his beliefs in what are important themes and next steps for Kansans and Americans.
