Sarah Everard. Reclaiming Our Streets, Protecting Women, and The Female Experience

Season 1, Episode 6,   Mar 15, 2021, 10:00 AM

On the evening of 3 March 2021, 33-year-old marketing executive Sarah Everard disappeared in South London. She went missing after leaving a friend's house to walk home. Last week her remains were discovered in a wooded area. A local police officer was arrested and charged with her kidnapping and murder.

This tragic story is all too familiar. As a columnist with The Guardian so eloquently put it, "When she went missing, any woman who has ever walked home alone at night felt that grim, instinctive sense of recognition. Footsteps on a dark street. Keys gripped between your fingers. There but for the grace of God"

On this weeks stand alone episode, we talk all about Sarahs story, and how it has effected us. We dive into what we call "The Female Experience" Every woman has been there. Am I being followed? Can you walk me to my car? I feel like someone is watching me. Are we being paranoid, dramatic, or are we being diligent and trying to protect ourselves? Do we feel protected as women? From personal experiences we dive into our thoughts and feelings about this topic.
