Fmr. CIA Director John Brennan Shares His Undaunted Perspective
John Brennan, former CIA Director and MSNBC National Security Commentator, joins Jill Wine-Banks and Victor Shi on this episode of Intergenerational Politics to talk about the security risk facing our nation — from threats at home as well as from abroad — and how to deal best with those threats. We also discuss his new and highly relevant book, “Undaunted: My Fight Against America’s Enemy At Home and Abroad.”
John previously served as director of the Central Intelligence Agency and was one of President Obama's most trusted national security advisors for the full Obama Administration. Before becoming Director in 2013, Brennan worked in the CIA from 1980 to 2005 specializing in Middle Eastern affairs and counterterrorism. He then started a consulting firm, before returning as Obama’s Homeland Security Advisor from 2009 to 2013 and then served as CIA director until 2017. This means he has served 3 Republican and 3 Democratic administrations. Since leaving government in 2017, he has been a very visible and vocal commentator on national security for MSNBC and wrote, “Undaunted: My Fight Against America’s Enemy At Home and Abroad.”
