30th April 2021 - Part A - FA Trophy Final, Concord Rangers & Harrogate Town
Season 5, Episode 31, Apr 30, 2021, 04:00 AM
Bank Holiday weekend and this week's show is a two-parter. Part A released here as usual, Part B released slightly later in the day on Friday.
First up in this episode Tim Fuell previews Bank Holiday Monday's Non League Finals Day 2020. Finally, the four teams involved get their day out at Wembley, although it will be without the fans of any of the clubs and without the thousands of neutrals this big day normally brings together.
Antony Smith is a Chairman who wears his heart on his sleeve. He's helped steer Concord Rangers in their rise up the pyramid and in the football world's consciousness and admits there were times he feared they wouldn't get their day at Wembley. Now they have, it's been tough making the choices of who has earnt the right to the limited tickets the club can grant to those who have helped the club get their day at the home of football.
Returning to the Non-league fold for the day is Football League Harrogate Town. Manager Simon Weaver spent many years as a player and manager in the Non-league game and has stayed faithful to many of those who took the club up via last year's play-offs. He explains why this second Wembley appearance is just as important to him, the players and all at the club.
Rounding up the week's Non-league news is Editor at Large at the Non League Paper Matt Badcock, in a week that the National League got even tighter at the top and some clubs at Step 5 declined 'elevation' to Step 4.
Part B of this week's show will be available via usual channels on Friday evening.
