RACT calls for speed limits at roadside breakdowns

Since 2019 it has been an offence to drive more than 40 km/hr past emergency service vehicles on the side of the road or highway.
However, the law doesn't extend to tow truck operators and roadside breakdown service employees who still have to face the dangers of traffic passing by at highway speeds.
The RACT has evidence of multiple near-misses involving it's roadside assist staff and wants the law broadened to cover them and others.
