Nile Wilson - "You are more than your sport"

In today’s episode, I head to Manchester to join a man who has performed at the highest level in sport, Olympic Bronze medalist on the horizontal bar Nile Wilson.  Commonwealth Games Champion by the age 18, Nile has been through the emotional rollercoaster of the Olympic comedown.

During our Monday Mile stroll, we delve into the topic of mental health and confront some of the issues not always spoken about in sport at the elite level - the highs, the lows and the associated pressures that come with being in the limelight when at the top of your game. Nile is not only known for his performance on the gym floor, but also his highly engaging Vlogging content.  During our stroll, he gives an open and honest account about his struggle at times, and how he has fought his own battle with mental health. A truly inspiring individual for this Monday's podcast.

Former Team GB double winter Olympian Aimee Fuller is on a mission to find the secrets for Monday motivation from some of the most successful sports men and women of our time and other well-known celebrities who are excelling in their field, dropping a new episode every Monday.

Aimee will be probing for answers from the full spectrum of routines; the early birds who have finely tuned Monday mornings, to the late risers who struggle to get up before 11am. How do elite athletes find the motivation to kick start their week come rain or shine? How do celebrities deliver no matter what the time of day? What knowledge can they pass on?

Aimee will meet each of her guests for a walk and a chat and over the course of the mile she will find out how they cope on a Monday morning - their idiosyncrasies, breakfast routines, alarm noises - and how, when they need to, find the motivation to kick-on through the week.
