Jun 30, 2022, 03:17 AM
On June 24, the U.S. Supreme court overruled Roe vs. Wade, the 1973 case that originated in Dallas county that legalized abortion. As the nation grapples with the high court’s decision and the debates that came with it, we wanted to better understand those who think there is still common ground.
Dallas Morning News editorial fellow BeLynn Hollers moderates a conversation between two women on both sides of the issue: Sarah Damoff is a Dallas-based social worker and writer who contributed a chapter titled “One Christian’s Perspective on Abortion” to the anthology A War on My Body by Paxton Smith; Destiny Herndon-De La Rosa is the founder and president of New Wave Feminists, a Consistent Life Ethic organization that works to protect all life from womb to tomb.
We ask them two questions: What would you say to the other side if they would listen? Is there any common ground?
