When Carte Blanche opened in June 2021, a key part of the Lower Greenville restaurant's appeal was the impressive résumé of chef Casey La Rue. He touted his work under some of the world’s most decorated chefs at Michelin-starred restaurants.
But on Friday, The News published an exclusive report that reps from those restaurants say they have no record of La Rue ever working for them. In fact, the chefs and staff didn't even recognize La Rue from photos. Food editor Erin Booke talks with reporter Claire Ballor, who broke the story after months of investigation.
