Oti Mabuse - "There is something greater out there for everyone".
Season 5, Episode 1, Sep 25, 2022, 11:02 PM
This week on the Monday Mile podcast, I head to North West London to link up with Oti Mabuse. It’s fair to say she is one of the most determined and hard working humans I have ever had the pleasure of speaking to. She shares her outlook on progression, “What is the alternative, do I stay in this situation? I have the capability to change it, but if I don’t, what is the alternative?”.
We chat about the importance of preserving her passion for dance, the music that feeds her soul, and Oti even sang us a few lines of her favourite tune to wake up to! We learn about her unusual breakfast set up, yes we are talking mixing cereals in a bowl, love that…. and how competition brings out the best innovation. What I loved about chatting to Oti is her her passion for learning, whether it’s a new style in dance, or taking a new path on her journey within broadcast. She’s ambitious, she’s got drive, it fired me up and I know it will you too.
And yeah, she’s also a 2x Strictly Come Dancing champion, a TV presenter, Podcaster, and Judge on Dancing on Ice.
Aimee will be probing for answers from the full spectrum of routines; the early birds who have finely tuned Monday mornings, to the late risers who struggle to get up before 11am. How do elite athletes find the motivation to kick start their week come rain or shine? How do celebrities deliver no matter what the time of day? What knowledge can they pass on?
Each episode drops on a Monday morning as a bitesize piece of content and weekly dose of motivation - right when you need it. Aimee will meet each of her guests for a walk and a chat and over the course of the mile she will find out how they cope on a Monday morning - their idiosyncrasies, breakfast routines, alarm noises - and how, when they need to, find the motivation to kick-on through the week. Sharing some of Britain's greatest athletes, entrepreneurs, doctors, authors and broadcasters ’ secrets on self-motivation, candid thoughts on what they struggle with and a sideways look at some of their more unusual morning habits.
