Dr. CS Matthews - Pt. 1 - Mysterious Beauty - Paranormal Indigenous stories

"An encyclopedic and immensely entertaining history of the Hudson Valley’s long otherworldly tradition." - Kirkus Review, 2019
Mysterious Beauty: Living with the Paranormal in the Hudson Valley,
Audio Book, Audible, Dr. CS Matthews.
Reconnecting with Carol - Definite Yes on the book but I also recommend her blog. Stories are personal and cover all sorts of Fortean, paranormal, odd, unexplained and curious. The one she says was the scariest to write is about the 2 stalkers. Not fiction. The story is her true account. Synchronistic connection here - "The Watcher" just started running on Netflix. True story - mystery remains unsolved.
Amazon Summary: Includes Native and early colonial reports and then profiles select individuals whose lives have been touched by the paranormal, either as experiencers, investigators, or both.
Reader Review: I love that this book has the courage to look at the weird and particular. It doesn't just go the usual "UFOs over [your state here]" route-- it really feels lived in and personal. It captures that inimitable, strange Hudson Valley magic.
This is a two part interview, covering lots of paranormal from her book, but there is also a personal account she shared on her blog and has spoken about in a previous interview that involves what might best be described as a shamanic encounter with a spider.
That story is in part Two, where we also talk about her new book: Final Season - A Lovecraftian Quartet, Amazon.
Summary: Truth and fiction meet in this collection of unnerving tales that merge Lovecraft with actual paranormal experiences, current events and conspiracy.

PS. Carol recommends TRINITY: The Best Kept Secret, Jacques Vallée, Amazon
