4th February 2023 - Tech News & Reviews on BBC Berkshire

Feb 10, 2023, 01:00 AM

Fevzi Turkalp, the Gadget Detective, joins Bill Buckley to discuss the latest tech news and reviews. This week; Interpol, the international police, are looking into how they will be able to police the metaverse in the future, even setting up their own VR in which to practise.

First Gadget of the Week is Moog Mavis. This analogue mono synthesizer comes in kit form to build yourself at home, with no soldering required, and is capable of delivering a huge depth of sound, featuring Moog's legendary oscillator and filter circuits to bring all those classic tones we're familiar with from years gone by. Combining traditional subtractive synthesis with additive wavefolding for some truly powerful musical capabilities, it can even be removed from its case to become part of a Eurorack system. Scoring an impressive 4 out of 5, full details and a demo in the show.

You can hear the Gadget Detective on BBC Radio Berkshire just after midday every Saturday and can follow and contact him on Twitter @gadgetdetective. If you enjoy these shows please consider subscribing and leaving a review, thanks!
