Chad Daybell's Attorney Calls for Dismissal of Indictment #dismissal #legaldelay

Feb 27, 2023, 06:00 PM

In a pre-trial conference hearing in Idaho, Lori Vallow Daybell appeared shackled and silent while her attorney, Jim Archibald, objected to the motion for separate trials for Lori and her husband, Chad Daybell. Archibald argued that Lori believed she would not be convicted and that mental health experts had diagnosed her with a mental illness. However, the state was against mental health being used as a defense in Lori's case. Meanwhile, Chad Daybell's attorney, John Prior, claimed that the defense had not received all the evidence, including half a million GPS points and 1,188 tips, which would impede their ability to prepare for the trial. Despite the defense's objections, the trial was set to begin on April 3rd, with both Chad and Lori facing joint charges. The defense also raised the issue of hair samples taken from Chad and Lori, which were being tested by a private lab in California for specific DNA evidence.
