Defense Team Claims Government Failed to Turn Over Evidence, Seeks to Exclude from Trial #DiscoveryFailures

Mar 13, 2023, 05:00 PM

Lori Vallow Daybell's defense team is actively fighting to take the death penalty off the table as her trial date approaches, citing mental illness and persistent media coverage as reasons for prejudice against their client. The defense team has also accused the government of multiple discovery violations and has sought to exclude nearly 5,000 pages of evidence and 48 audio files from being introduced at trial, arguing that they simply do not have time to review it all. Despite Idaho's execution drug shortage, the defense team remains hopeful that their efforts will be successful in keeping Lori Vallow Daybell off death row.
