Work on a major new housing development near Folkestone could start later this year, as controversial plans have been given the go-ahead. 8,500 thousand homes will be built in the first phase of Otterpool Park on land around the former racecourse. Opposition parties are concerned about the huge scale of the project, and whether it's viable. But council leader David Monk insists it'll help address rising demand in the area.
