Yacht Brokers Associations - Necessary or just another Good Ol' Boy Club?

On the face of it, most Broker Associations are talked about in hushed and reverent tones. However, there are many not so reverent stories and opinions that are whispered and shared out of earshot of a handful of names that use their position as a weapon of power and control. Often, those stories are shared by current and past members, alike. The oldest of these associations tend to have one thing in common, a certain color, gender, and the ability to influence the flow of green to those that they favor.
The year is 2023, the crew entering the industry have been born after the year 2000, and the UHNWI are no longer simply British Royalty, Russian Oligarchs, Mafia, Oil Barrons, and Tech entrepreneurs. They are a generation that values the human experience, cares about the environment, and most importantly, speaks every language, is of every age, and comes in every color, ethnicity, religion, gender, shape, and size.
Marc von Eiberg, Founder of Bluebnc, joins us to discuss his experiences as a Charter Broker. How navigating his way thru a system that was created at least a decade before he was born and was not intended for someone of his ethnicity, has proven difficult, and why things need to change, not only for him but for his many clients from around the world.
There may well be a place for these Associations, however, the look, the feel, the purpose, and the transparency in business, need to align themselves with the world of today.
