The Talisman with Matt Lieb
Episode 188, Jul 19, 2023, 08:00 AM
The very funny Matt Lieb (of the Pod Yourself A Gun podcast) joins The Kingcast boys in a rollercoaster of a chat that somehow incorporates terrible Stephen King impersonations, what a wet noodle Richard Sloat is in The Talisman, speculation on whether or not The Duffer Bros are the right people to finally adapt this story, and perhaps the most off-color Eric Clapton reference ever dropped.
One of Stephen King's early forays into fantasy was 1982's The Talisman, which he co-wrote with celebrated genre author Peter Straub. The story focuses on a young boy who embarks on a cross-country (and cross-reality) quest to save his dying mother by obtaining a magical talisman that could very well cure his mother and save a parallel world also at risk of falling apart.
