This time Vidar was reviewing the story of one young Lion Cup’s epic journey to fulfil his destiny as King of the Pridelands in Disney’s The Lion King as the current touring production visited the Birmingham Hippodrome Theatre on Wednesday 16 August 2023 at 2pm with description by Professional Audio Describers Jonathan Nash and Julia Grundy.
In Disney’s The Lion King Director Julie Taymor uses breathtaking theatrical magic to bring Disney’s beloved animated feature to life in a production which has thrilled over 110 million people around the world.
This captivating reimagining of the beloved Disney animated feature won 6 Tony awards when it premiered on Broadway in 1997. Since then, the production has played in theatres all over the world, and embarked on multiple UK, US and international tours.
As the sun rises on the plains of the Serengeti, watch in awe as giraffes, gazelles and birds bring the story of Simba to life in a spectacle unlike any other.
