A Paranormal Trifecta: Cambre House and Farm | Part Two

Oct 19, 2023, 05:00 AM

In 1850, Adolphe Cambre and his family moved to Nauvoo, Illinois, as part of the Icarian community. The idea was to form a utopian society. However, he decided to leave that community, and in 1867, he built his family home. Four generations of the Cambre family lived in the home for over one hundred years. It was built on a limestone bluff overlooking the Mississippi River and has a mineral spring running underneath the property. It is like a paranormal trifecta.

The Cambre House and Farm is now a wedding venue that is filled with activity even when no one is around. You can hear footsteps and doors open and close on their own. A young girl's spirit seems to reside in the house, and a woman’s apparition has been seen watching over the weddings that now take place on its grounds. Could it be that the family was so tied to the property that they never left?  Could members of the Cambre family still be together in their house?

Today on the Grave Talks, Part Two of our conversation about the Cambre House and Farm with owner Rebecca Williamson.
