Expert By Experience: Anna
Season 7, Episode 5, Nov 22, 2023, 01:00 AM
Anna Cooper has not one but two stomas. An ileostomy formed in 2020 and a urostomy which was formed in June 2023 as a result of endometriosis.
Anna's pain started when she was just 11 years old, when she first started getting her period. The pain progressed over the next few years to include painful bowel movements and it wasn't until she was 18 that Anna was diagnosed with endometriosis.
In this episode, Coloplast Ambassador Anna speaks about how her pain was waved away as period pains, living with two stomas day to day and how an emergency appendectomy led to her receiving her correct diagnosis.
