Neil Fox - Medley

He is a presenter who turned from being a music jock to an elder statesmen without anyone noticing the join. He – is Foxy – the Doctor. Or just plain Neil Fox.

Like so many of us, he began by simply pestering his local station. In Foxy’s case it was Wyvern in Worcester. From his beginnings there in 1984, it was a comparatively speedy journey through Luxembourg three years later and then off to Capital the same year, from where he also hosted the Network Chart/Hit 40UK. It was during this spell that the commercial chart overtook the BBC chart.

On Capital, he hosted evenings; and, for a period, the Saturday late show, where his ‘Doctor’ name was born. Well, he was hosting his 'surgery'. Neil replaced Kid Jensen on drive-time (just as he'd replaced him on the Network Chart) in 1998.

Foxy hosted the breakfast show on a relief basis for Tarrant’s many planned absences and anticipated being invited to host it permanently. It was not to be, Foxy left Leicester Square in 2005, moving to the refreshed Magic. What was seen by some as an unlikely move has proven successful. Foxy can be proud of his, and his station’s, audiences and of his many awards.
